{"id":111,"date":"2009-07-19T19:46:50","date_gmt":"2009-07-20T01:46:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sydnieann.com\/?p=111"},"modified":"2009-07-19T19:46:50","modified_gmt":"2009-07-20T01:46:50","slug":"c-is-for-cookie-thats-good-enough-for-me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sydnieann.com\/?p=111","title":{"rendered":"C is for cookie, that&#8217;s good enough for me&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I made stuff today!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"693\" src=\"http:\/\/i175.photobucket.com\/albums\/w134\/sydnieann\/DSC01564A.jpg\" height=\"617\" \/><\/p>\n<p>These are <a href=\"http:\/\/allrecipes.com\/Recipe\/Cracked-Sugar-Cookies-I\/Detail.aspx\">Cracked Sugar Cookies<\/a>, also referred to as &#8220;crack&#8221; sugar cookies due to their addictive nature!\u00a0 <!--more-->I got the link to the recipe from Debra, through one of those fun little games on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/sydnieann\">Facebook<\/a> where you ask people to say what they remember about you.\u00a0 And you hope they come up with something flattering!\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 (Feel free to ignore the sharps container, turtle food, Silly Putty, etc. in the background of the pic&#8230;)\u00a0 I doubled the recipe, thinking that this house would go through 24 cookies in about 10 minutes.\u00a0 Instead, I got somewhere over 9 dozen cookies, not including all of the cookies I ate&#8230; well&#8230; raw.\u00a0 The cookie dough was tasty!\u00a0 I know it&#8217;s not a good idea to eat raw cookie dough, but I&#8217;ve read about how the risk of disease from raw eggs is MUCH lower now than it used to be, with all the pasteurization &amp; sciency stuff we have now.\u00a0 Who knows if it&#8217;s true?\u00a0 I hope so.\u00a0 I used one of my cool little disher-scoop thingies, so all the cookies were uniformly sized.\u00a0 The baking on them is all uneven&#8230; my oven seems to have some quirks.\u00a0 It definitely doesn&#8217;t bake very evenly, which means it&#8217;s probably time to upgrade.\u00a0 Which means it&#8217;s definitely time for Mom &amp; Dad to upgrade (hint hint, Dad &#8211; yours is getting really really really old, don&#8217;t you think?), then they will need to find a way to dispose of their old one, which is where I come in.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I also made this:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"635\" src=\"http:\/\/i175.photobucket.com\/albums\/w134\/sydnieann\/DSC01563A.jpg\" height=\"642\" style=\"width: 635px; height: 642px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodnetwork.com\/recipes\/alton-brown\/avocado-ice-cream-recipe\/index.html\">Alton Brown&#8217;s Avocado Ice Cream<\/a>.\u00a0 I think it&#8217;s DELICIOUS.\u00a0 Cold, refreshing, and not too sweet.\u00a0 Tina thinks it needs more sugar though.\u00a0 I had a little dish of it this morning after it came out of the ice cream maker when it was still sort of soft.\u00a0 I cut down the fat in the recipe &#8211; subbing half &amp; half and skim milk for the heavy cream and whole milk.\u00a0 In some recipes, this makes the texture a little&#8230; grainy, I guess is a good word for that.\u00a0 But this one seems to have enough fat from the avocados that it still feels nice and creamy.\u00a0 Yet another reason to proclaim my eternal love and devotion to Mr. Alton Brown.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I made stuff today!
