{"id":77,"date":"2009-01-04T19:55:03","date_gmt":"2009-01-05T01:55:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sydnieann.com\/?p=77"},"modified":"2009-01-04T19:56:26","modified_gmt":"2009-01-05T01:56:26","slug":"happy-new-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sydnieann.com\/?p=77","title":{"rendered":"Happy New Year!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So, once again, Mother Nature tried to scheme against me.\u00a0 The day I had planned to drive to Rock Springs (by myself) for part of my big Christmas vacation, it snowed.\u00a0 A lot.\u00a0 And the wind blew.\u00a0 And the roads were bad.\u00a0 Bah.\u00a0 But&#8230; two days later, it was only windy!\u00a0 And by that point, Tina was actually able to get out of town, so she and the pooches went with me.\u00a0 She actually drove me.\u00a0 Which was especially nice, cause then I could sleep past Rawlins without having to try out the Oldsmobile I-80 Auto-Pilot feature.\u00a0 It&#8217;s not always reliable, from what I hear.<\/p>\n<p>While we were there, my poor dad had to work on the weekdays, which left Mom, Tina &amp; me on our own for girl time.\u00a0 I had a stack of sewing questions for mom to help me with, and some jeans I was scared to hem by myself.\u00a0 Not only did she help me out with all of that, but she also taught Tina to sew, and she taught us both how to make these awesome little rag quilts for the pups.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Here is Tillie on hers, surrounded by a small number of the toys she tried to steal from Reggie:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" src=\"http:\/\/i175.photobucket.com\/albums\/w134\/sydnieann\/Dog%20Blankets\/DSC01306.jpg\" alt=\"Tillie and toys\" height=\"240\" style=\"width: 320px; height: 240px\" title=\"Tillie and toys\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s Grover, next to power cords and feet.\u00a0 He&#8217;s looking shaggy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" src=\"http:\/\/i175.photobucket.com\/albums\/w134\/sydnieann\/Dog%20Blankets\/DSC01308.jpg\" alt=\"Grover and feet\" height=\"240\" style=\"width: 320px; height: 240px\" title=\"Grover and feet\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And here they both are at home, in their spot under the piano bench.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" src=\"http:\/\/i175.photobucket.com\/albums\/w134\/sydnieann\/Dog%20Blankets\/DSC01312-1.jpg\" alt=\"Pups at home under the piano\" height=\"240\" style=\"width: 320px; height: 240px\" title=\"Pups at home under the piano\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Tillie was once again obsessed with my dad.\u00a0 She just knew deep down that he really wanted to throw toys for her.\u00a0 He had other ideas.\u00a0 But she wouldn&#8217;t give up.\u00a0 After staring down one toy for a while, she would just get another one to stack up on him.\u00a0 He ended up with piles of toys in his lap more than once during the visit.<\/p>\n<p>I took all three dogs (Tillie, Grover, and Reggie) to the school with all three nieces in the hopes of wearing out the crazy cattle dog.\u00a0 The girls threw toys for Tillie over and over and over again, and the Schnauzers ran around checking out the great smells and wrestled with Rhiannon.\u00a0 We played until the girls were worn out, got back to mom &amp;
